God sent Malachi to speak to the priests, reminding them that He deeply loved His people and deserved sincere worship. But the priests offered the weakest and poorest sacrifices, treating God's name lightly. Malachi rebuked them for bringing to the greater God gifts they would not give to a human ruler, and called them to honor God again by giving Him their best.
