John sees the Holy City, New Jerusalem, coming down from heaven, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband. The city shines like a precious jewel, with high walls and twelve gates. Its foundations are decorated with all kinds of gems. The city needs no sun or moon, for the glory of God is its light and the Lamb is its lamp.
