Jesus saw a man who had been blind from birth. His disciples asked whose sin had caused his blindness. Jesus answered that it was not because of anyone's sin, but so that the work of God might be displayed in him. Jesus made mud with saliva and earth, put it on the man's eyes, and told him to go wash in the Pool of Siloam. The man went, washed, and came back able to see. Because this happened on the Sabbath, the Pharisees came to question him.
