Paul's Defense Before the People

Paul stood on the steps of the fortress and spoke in Hebrew to the angry crowd. He shared his testimony — he had been a zealous persecutor of Christians, but on the road to Damascus, the risen Jesus appeared to him in brilliant light and rescued him from darkness. God Himself called him to be an apostle to the Gentiles. The people listened quietly until Paul mentioned the Gentiles — then they erupted in anger again. The commander ordered Paul into the fortress.
