Adam's descendants

This chapter records the genealogy from Adam to Noah, presenting the life spans of ten generations. Each generation experienced birth, growth, the bearing of children, and then death. Among them, Enoch was distinctive; he walked with God for three hundred years, and God took him away, and he was no longer in the world. This genealogy shows that early humans lived very long; Adam lived nine hundred and thirty years, and Methuselah lived nine hundred and sixty‑nine years, the longest‑lived person recorded. Finally, Noah was born, and his father Lamech hoped that this child would bring comfort.
