God warned Pharaoh that unprecedented great hail would fall, and mercifully reminded people to bring their livestock and servants indoors for shelter. Those who feared God heeded the warning and were preserved, while those who despised it suffered losses. Terrible hail mixed with fire fell, destroying everything in the fields, yet the land of Goshen remained unharmed. Pharaoh confessed his sin and pleaded for mercy, but hardened his heart again once the hail stopped.
