Prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane

After the supper, Jesus took Peter, James, and John to the Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus was deeply grieved, almost to the point of death, and he asked the three disciples to keep watch nearby. Jesus went on ahead a few paces, fell face down on the ground, and prayed earnestly, asking the Father in heaven to remove this cup of suffering if possible, but he still said he was willing to do the Father's will. Jesus came back three times and found the disciples asleep. He gently woke them and told them that the one who would betray him was near.
