Abraham and Sarah came to live in Gerar. Because Abraham was afraid, he did not clearly tell people that Sarah was his wife; he said she was his sister. King Abimelech misunderstood and invited Sarah to the palace. That night, God warned Abimelech in a dream and told him to send Sarah safely back to Abraham. Abimelech listened to God. The next morning he asked Abraham why he had hidden the truth, sent Sarah back safely, and gave Abraham gifts. Abraham prayed for Abimelechโs household, and God cared for them. Later, God kept His promise and Sarah gave birth to Isaac. Abraham also made a peace agreement with Abimelech. Family matters involving Isaac and Ishmael made Abraham worried, but God promised to care for Ishmael too. This story reminds us to be honest even when we are afraid, and to trust Godโs protection and faithful guidance.
