Solomon offered sacrifices at Gibeon. That night God appeared to him in a dream and told him to ask for whatever he wished. Solomon did not ask for riches or long life; humbly, he asked for a discerning heart to judge God's people and tell right from wrong. God was greatly pleased and granted him unmatched wisdom, along with riches and honor he had not asked for. Soon after, Solomon judged the case of two women claiming the same baby with such wisdom that all Israel held their king in awe.
