Solomon assembled all Israel and brought the Ark up from the City of David into the inner sanctuary of the temple. When the priests came out of the holy place, a cloud filled the LORD's house — the glory of God was magnificent! Solomon knelt before the whole people, lifted his hands toward heaven, and offered a fervent prayer, asking God to hear His people's cry, to forgive their sins, and to save them in every distress.
As the Ark entered the temple, a cloud filled the house of the LORD, and God Himself came to dwell among His people. Before the people Solomon knelt and prayed, asking God to hear, forgive, and save. This tells us that whenever and wherever we are, we can faithfully pray to God, and He will hear. Prayer is our most precious bridge to draw near to God.
