Judas Iscariot went to the chief priests and asked what they would give him if he handed Jesus over. They gave him thirty pieces of silver, and from then on Judas looked for a chance to betray Jesus. When the Passover came, the disciples asked Jesus where they should prepare the meal. Jesus arranged everything in his time, and the disciples prepared the Passover. That evening Jesus sat at the table with the twelve and told them that one of them would betray him. The disciples were sorrowful and asked, “Is it I, Lord?” Jesus knew everything, yet he continued forward in love. During the meal, Jesus took bread, blessed it, broke it, and gave it to the disciples. He also took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, explaining that it was the blood of the covenant, poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. Then they sang a hymn and went toward the Mount of Olives.
