Jesus led the disciples out to the vicinity of Bethany, and raising his hands, he blessed them. While he was blessing them, he was lifted up into heaven. The disciples worshiped him, and then returned to Jerusalem with great joy, praising God in the temple.
Jesus ascended into heaven to prepare an eternal dwelling place for us, and he promised that one day he will come back to receive us. This reminds us that this life is only a temporary stay, and heaven is our true home; we should always look forward to the glorious hope.
