Two angels came to the city of Sodom, and Lot welcomed them into his home. Some people in the city were very unkind, and the angels told Lot that the city was no longer safe. Lot and his family needed to leave right away. The angels guided them toward a safe place and reminded them to keep moving forward and not look back. Lot’s family reached Zoar and, from far away, saw the sky over Sodom grow dark. They knew God had brought them away from danger. Lot’s wife looked back and did not keep moving forward with God’s word; her story became a serious reminder to listen to God’s warning. Later, Lot and his daughters settled in Zoar. Far away, Abraham prayed for Lot, and God remembered his prayer and cared for Lot and his daughters.
God takes sin seriously, and He is also full of mercy. When the angels warned Lot’s family to leave danger, they needed to listen to God’s word, keep moving forward, and not turn back. God also remembered Abraham’s prayer and cared for Lot and his daughters. This story reminds us that when God uses His word, parents, or teachers to warn us away from wrong things, we should obediently leave them behind and trust God’s merciful rescue and care.
