Paul and Barnabas planned to return and visit the cities where they had preached the Lord's word. Barnabas planned to take John Mark, but Paul thought they should not take him because he had left them in Pamphylia. Their disagreement grew sharp, and they separated. Barnabas sailed to Cyprus with Mark. Paul chose Silas and set out after the brothers commended him to God's grace, traveling through Syria and Cilicia to strengthen the assemblies.
Paul and Barnabas disagreed about whether John Mark should travel with them, and they eventually went separate ways. When we disagree, we can explain our reasons calmly and listen carefully to one another.
