Paul was brought before Governor Felix for trial. The high priest and the lawyer Tertullus accused Paul of stirring up rebellion and desecrating the temple. Paul calmly defended himself, saying that he worshiped the God of his ancestors and believed everything in the law and prophets. Felix was frightened when Paul spoke of righteousness and judgment. But to please the Jews, he kept Paul imprisoned for two full years.
