The Lord also appointed another seventy-two, sending them two by two ahead of him to every city and place he was about to go. He said to them, 'The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. So entreat the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.'
The plentiful harvest and the few workers are God’s urgent call and sending. Jesus told the disciples to pray for more workers and then to go out two by two to serve the people near them, telling everyone that God’s Kingdom is near. We too are called to join this mission and answer God’s calling with sincere service.
