The Peaceful Vision of the Messiah's Kingdom

Old Isaiah received a wonderful vision from God: a tender shoot would grow from the root of Jesse, showing that God would raise up a Messiah King filled with the Spirit and ruling in righteousness. In the story, Isaiah sees a dry stump put out a little shoot, and the shoot slowly grow into a great tree. A lamb and a little wolf sit side by side, a calf and a lion cub play with a child, a cow and a bear share berries, and animals and children rest peacefully beside the tree and clear water. God lets Isaiah see a peaceful world where no one hurts another, so children can understand: when God's King reigns, fear is replaced by hope, and fighting is replaced by peace.
