King Nebuchadnezzar had a strange dream, but when he woke up he had forgotten what it was. None of his wise men in the kingdom could tell him. When Daniel heard this, he asked the king to give him a little time, then went home with three close friends to pray. That very night God revealed the mystery to Daniel. With a heart full of thanks, Daniel went back to the king and said: there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets. The king had seen a great statue — its head was pure gold, its chest and arms silver, its belly and thighs bronze, its legs iron, and its feet a mixture of iron and clay. Then a stone, cut without human hands, smashed the statue and grew into a great mountain that filled the whole earth. Daniel explained: that stone is the kingdom of God — it shall stand forever, far greater than every kingdom of the world that rises and falls.
