Jacob loved Joseph very much and gave him a bright coat of many colors. When Joseph's brothers saw the coat, jealousy grew in their hearts. Joseph had two dreams: bundles of grain bowed to his bundle, and the sun, moon, and eleven stars bowed to him. When he told his family, his brothers became more upset, while Jacob kept the matter in mind. Later Jacob sent Joseph to check on his brothers who were caring for the sheep far away. The brothers saw Joseph coming and made a bad plan. Reuben tried to protect him by suggesting they put him in an empty well. When a caravan of traders passed by, the brothers handed Joseph over to be taken toward Egypt, then brought the stained coat back to Jacob. Jacob was very sad, but Joseph, far from home, still trusted that God was with him.
