God created the heavens and the earth.

In the beginning, the world was formless and dark. In six days, God created the heavens and the earth: on Day 1 He separated light from darkness; on Day 2 He made the firmament; on Day 3 He caused the dry land to appear and the plants to grow; on Day 4 He set the sun, moon, and stars in their places; on Day 5 He created the birds of the sky and the fish of the sea; on Day 6 He made the land animals and formed human beings in His own image. God saw all that He had made, and it was very good. Each day's creation unfolded in perfect order, displaying His infinite wisdom and mighty power.
