A paralyzed person is lowered from the roof.

Jesus was teaching in a house in Capernaum, and the house was so crowded that there was no room even at the entrance. Four men brought their paralyzed friend to Jesus, but because of the crowd they could not bring him in. They went up to the roof, opened it, and lowered the paralyzed man on his mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” The teachers of the law muttered among themselves, “He is speaking blasphemy.” Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” Then he said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat, and go home!”
