When the chief priests and elders questioned Jesus in the temple, he told two parables. In the first, one son first refused but later repented and worked in the vineyard, while another son agreed with words but did not act. In the second, wicked tenants rejected the vineyard owner, mistreated his servants, and rejected his son. Jesus taught that God values true repentance and obedience in action, not faith that is only outward appearance and empty words.
