Paul Appeals to Caesar

When the new governor Festus replaced Felix, the Jewish leaders begged him to send Paul back to Jerusalem for trial — secretly planning to kill him on the way. Festus decided to hold the trial in Caesarea. When the accusers could not provide real evidence, Paul exercised his right as a Roman citizen and appealed to Caesar! Festus declared, 'You have appealed to Caesar. To Caesar you shall go!'
