The Fall of Jericho

The Israelites came to the strong city of Jericho, but the gates were tightly shut with no one coming in or going out. God told Joshua a strange battle plan: the entire army was to march around the city, with seven priests carrying seven trumpets made of ram's horns walking in front of the Ark of the Covenant. For six days, the Israelites marched around the city once each day, walking quietly and not saying a word. On the seventh day, they marched around the city seven times. The priests blew the trumpets, and all the people shouted together. Then the strong walls of Jericho fell down with a great crash! The Israelites went up from every direction and captured the city. Because she had helped the Israelite spies, the prostitute Rahab and her whole family were kept safe. Joshua declared that anyone who rebuilt Jericho would be cursed. The LORD was with Joshua, and Joshua's fame spread throughout the whole land.
