The Israelites came to Jericho, whose city gates were tightly shut. God told Joshua to have the people march around the city for seven days; seven priests carrying rams' horn trumpets walked in front of the Ark of the Covenant. For the first six days, they quietly marched around the city once each day; on the seventh day, they marched around it seven times. The priests blew the trumpets, the people shouted together, and the walls fell down. Joshua's friends also kept their promise and brought Rahab, who had helped them, and her whole family to safety. The people thanked God for keeping His promise and helping them.
