In the Beginning Was the Word

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; without him nothing was made that has been made. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. John the Baptist testified about him, shouting, “This is the one I meant when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’” To all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
