At midnight, the Lord’s word came true in Egypt: the final plague came, and a great cry rose throughout the land. Israelite families stayed inside the houses marked with the lamb’s blood, trusting the Lord’s protection. Pharaoh called Moses and Aaron in the night and told the Israelites to leave with their flocks and herds to serve the Lord. The Egyptians urged them to go quickly and gave them silver, gold, and clothing. The final plague shows us that the Lord’s word surely comes true, and His judgment is real and solemn. At the same time, He faithfully protects and rescues the people who trust Him. The Israelites were not saved by their own strength; they stayed under the sign God gave and trusted His word. This serious story also reminds us that when a Bible story feels sad or frightening, we can pray to God and tell parents, teachers, or another trusted adult. Obeying God is not being scared into doing things; it is learning reverence and trust as we know His justice, mercy, and salvation.
