The Final Plague Comes

At midnight, the Lord’s word came true in Egypt: the final plague came, and a great cry rose throughout the land. Israelite families stayed inside the houses marked with the lamb’s blood, trusting the Lord’s protection. Pharaoh called Moses and Aaron in the night and told the Israelites to leave with their flocks and herds to serve the Lord. The Egyptians urged them to go quickly and gave them silver, gold, and clothing. The Israelites carried dough before it rose, set out from Rameses, and the Lord kept watch as He brought His people out of Egypt.
