Judah left his father's home and built a new home in a green valley. He had three sons, and kind Tamar joined Judah's family. Later, the family passed through a very sad time when Er and Onan's lives on earth came to an end. Judah promised Tamar that when Shelah grew up, he would care for her, so Tamar went back to her father's house and waited patiently. Many years passed, but Judah did not keep his promise. Tamar kept trusting God and bravely used wisdom to remind Judah to face his promise. When Judah saw his seal and cord, he understood that he had been wrong, admitted that Tamar had been more faithful than he had been, and said that he had not kept his promise. Later, Tamar gave birth to twins, Perez and Zerah. God still watched over this family and continued His faithful story.
