After Jesus entered Jerusalem, he walked straight into the temple. God's house is meant to be holy, a quiet place where everyone can pray. But when Jesus looked up, the temple was packed with merchants. Some sold cows, some sold sheep, some sold doves, and others sat at tables changing money and charging fees. Cattle bellowed, sheep bleated, and shouting filled the courts so loudly that there was no quiet corner left to pray. Jesus' heart was deeply grieved. God's house had become a market! He took some cords and made a small whip, gently driving the animals outside. He overturned the tables of the money changers, and coins clinked across the floor. Jesus said firmly, "My house is a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of robbers." Everyone watching grew quiet. Once the temple was silent, Jesus sat down and gently taught the people. God's house is holy and must not be defiled by money and greed. It is a house of prayer, a place where people come to be blessed, healed, and heard. In the end, the children watched with wide eyes and gave thanks for Jesus, who cleansed the temple with love and holiness.
