Solomon Builds the Temple

King Solomon began to build the temple of the LORD — a grand house sixty cubits long, twenty wide, and thirty high. Its interior was paneled in cedar and overlaid with pure gold, carved with palm trees, open flowers, and cherubim. In the inner Most Holy Place stood two cherubim of olive wood, their wings stretched out to span the whole room. The temple was completed in seven years, every detail testifying to reverence for God.
