God gave Abraham a command that was very hard to understand, telling him to take his beloved son Isaac to Mount Moriah. Abraham did not understand the reason, but he chose to trust God. Early in the morning, he prepared the wood and set out with Isaac and the helpers. At the foot of the mountain, Abraham and Isaac walked up together step by step. Isaac asked, โWhere is the lamb?โ Abraham gently answered, โGod will provide the lamb, my son.โ At the top, Abraham built an altar and prayed to God. At the most tense moment, an angel called from heaven and told him to stop and not touch the child. Abraham saw a ram in the bushes and knew that God had provided. He hugged Isaac tightly and named the place โThe LORD will provide.โ
